Frequently asked questions

Vaccinations, feeding, bedding, and what to expect when boarding your dog in Chico.

Good to Know

Frequently asked questions.

Do you require an evaluation before boarding?

No. We make our assessment during your visit, taking time to see who plays well together. Our decades of experience mean we handle everything from small breeds to police dogs.

Why is my dog so tired after a stay?

Your dog is simply worn out from a lot of play and stimulation, more than they are used to at home. A good long nap afterward is completely normal.

What is a Bordetella vaccination?

It is the vaccination that helps prevent kennel cough, essentially the common cold for dogs.

What is required for my dog to stay?

A current rabies certificate on file, plus verification your dog is current on distemper, parvo, and Bordetella, and in good health.

Do you supply food?

Yes, we feed Loyal brand from a local Chico feed store. You are welcome to bring your own instead.

Can we bring bedding?

Yes, something washable like a blanket works best. If your dog tends to tear things up, a blanket makes less mess than a stuffed bed.

Can I bring toys from home?

You are welcome to, though most dogs barely touch them here. Skip stuffed animals or anything that soaks up liquid; a sturdy plastic toy is perfect.
